Creating safe spaces to address gender gaps

Girl Power!

Research consistently demonstrates that girls who play sports improve academically, make healthier choices, and show increased positive body-image and self-confidence. Yet, on a global scale only 12% of girls participate in sport and the vast majority of youth sports coaches are men.

Females face unique obstacles that can impact participation. Safe spaces that address these challenges are essential for women and girls to thrive in sports. Whether it's on the field, court, or course, every woman and girl deserves a place where she can play freely, without fear or intimidation.

By creating safe and inspring spaces to play, we strive to foster confidence, skill development and a love for the game. For youth, we offer all-girls sessions with female coaches who serve as mentors and role models. For women, we offer special clinics--designed and taught by our team of female coaches and open to all skill levels. They provide a place for women to to come togeher to learn the game, hone their skills and build community in a fun, casual environment.

We are proud to report that in 2023:⠀

🏌️‍♀️50% of our free youth camp coaches were female, including our golf instruction lead. ⠀

🏌️‍♀️58% of our summer camp participants were girls – up from 31% in 2021!⠀

🏌️‍♀️Our mailing list for our women’s clinics grew to more than 200 strong from a handful of interested players last year.

🏌️‍♀️We served several local nonprofits and schools dedicated to closing gender gaps and growing female sports participation including Girls Inc., Sistas On The Links and the Women’s Golf Teams for several local high schools and colleges.

🏌️‍♀️Looking ahead we are working to broaden our scope to even more women and girls. In 2024, we’re excited to have new groups joining us incuding GirlVentures, Good Vibes Golf Club, Junior League of Oakland East Bay and Women on Course.

We can’t wait to welcome a whole new group of #GirlsInGolf.
