Our work started during the pandemic in the spring of 2020 and our first focus was on providing much-needed opportunities for youth for outdoor recreation amidst the cancellation of group sports and school closures. In addition to removing fees for all youth afternoon play on the course, free golf team practice access was expanded from two Alameda high schools to several additional Bay Area high schools and colleges. No-cost programs for youth with limited to no options for summer enrichment followed shortly after.

As social distancing measures lifted, and community was able to gather again, we began to activate space for more alternative uses, significantly broadening access to new community members and organizations who had previously never visited Corica Park. We continue to support our local teams with subsidized rates, while expanding creative uses of space for golf and beyond.
