Sports participation is linked to a multitude of lifelong benefits ranging from better physical health to sharper cognitive performance to fostering self-confidence to building critical life skills such as teamwork and communication. Barriers to sports equity encompass a wide range of factors including financial constraints, limited access to facilities, cultural and social biases and physical and mental disabilities. Leveraging golf and golf course space to create opportunities for play can open avenues for more equitable access to the game we love and the many benefits that come with sport, outdoors access and physical activity.
